A wonderful time was had by all at the September function. We welcomed back old friends returning from their summer vacations and welcomed new friends arriving to Korea. Thank you to the base organizations and local vendors who participated, and to the traditional Korean dancers who performed!

It is with heavy hearts, that we bid a fond farewell to Mrs. Kathie Trexler, our Honorary President. Throughout her Air Force travels, Kathie has been a staunch supporter of base organizations, supporting both military members and their families. She has been a splendid ambassador for the Air Force and our Nation both at home and abroad. We wish her the best as she moves on to her next “assignment.” |

November 7, 2006 proved to be a very exciting night at the O’Club, indeed! We are thankful that we were able to gather together to enjoy a moment to visit, before the extremely busy season falls upon us. After we dined on delicious soups, salads and sandwiches, we got down to the business at hand ~~ MINI BINGO! With numerous prizes from the Asian community being awarded as prizes, our competitive spirits were definitely awakened. Yet true to the nature of military spouses, we joined as one, to cheer on our fellow members when they were up, and to console them when they were down. Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to the 25 FS for a fantastic evening full of special memories! |

Seventh Air Force hosted this month’s Officers’ Spouses’ Club function, a Christmas Tea, where we welcomed or new Honorary President, Mrs. Denise Wood. We took a moment out of our busy schedules to relax and visit, as a phenomenal vocalist serenaded us with some classics as well as beautiful holiday music. A delectable brunch was served; quiches, hash brown casserole, fresh fruit, banana bread, apple cake, coffee and an assortment of teas. Afterwards, we enjoyed a teacup exchange, and door prize drawings. |

It was a race to the finish on 18 January 2007, at the OOSC’s monthly function: Mustang Bunco! The 51st Fighter Wing Women hosted the fun-filled, fast-paced evening as some lucky players became winners, while others were left in the dust. Mustang Bunco is the only monthly function geared towards couples, and we were delighted to have several spouses join us. An assortment of heavy appetizers was provided, followed by a buffet of scrumptious desserts, sure to test those New Year’s weight-loss resolutions. Thanks to the 51 FW Women and all of their hard work, the evening was one that will be remembered for years to come. |

Thanks to the 36th Fighter Squadron for hosting this month’s function, Hearts and Flowers. They arranged for a local jeweler to to be available, allowing us to purchase beautifully created necklaces and rings as well as loose gems. The jeweler also explained how to tell the difference between genuine and imitation gems when shopping. After dining on Caesar salads and roasted garlic and tomato soup, we were treated to Bananas Foster Flambé! |

The 607 AIG hosted a Girls’ Night In, allowing us to remember days gone by. We took a step back in time to seventh grade and played crazy games, snacked on sophisticated “junk food,” and listened to all those groovy songs we used to know by heart. Board nominations were held, and we will vote next month. |

Asian Treasures Bingo was hosted by the 607 AOG on a beautiful spring evening in April. So many people won prizes that it was hard to keep track! After electing the 2007-08 OOSC Governing Board, we sampled delectable foods from the Pacific region. Additionally throughout the evening, we were “briefed” on the many challenges of marriage (and how to deal with them), courtesy of our very talented bingo caller...hey, was that Yoda? |

The Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS) Teachers hosted this month’s function. We celebrated six outstanding individuals whose extraordinary achievements earned them each an Osan Officers’ Spouses’ Club Scholastic Achievement Award. James M., Kristina S., and Alex M., are high school seniors who will attend college in the fall, and Nichole M., Sarah G., and Ryan K., are continuing education students. We were delighted to have Brigadier General Joseph Reynes, 51st Fighter Wing Commander, present the scholarships. Congratulations to the winners! Additionally, the 2007-08 Executive Board Installation Ceremony took place during the function. Thank you, 2006-07 Executive Board, for a memorable year. As a result of your hard work, determination and guidance, the Officers’ Spouses’ Club was able to help numerous individuals and organizations. Next year promises to be just as exciting!

To those who will be PCSing, thank you for your commitment; we wish you the best in your next adventure. To those who will be staying, we anticipate another fabulous year, and to those who are new to Osan, we look forward to helping you get settled into your new home.
